Ridiculous

First when I walked in the school, the director made me feel very uncomfortable. Fake laughs and I felt as if she was just trying to sugar coat everything. The Pre-School teachers sat every time I walked by. The elementary and toddler classes seemed to be hard at work...that seemed to be the only pro about this school. I would not recommend this school.

Best school I have ever seen

This is one of the best school I have ever seen . My son started from Tod -1 then moved to Tod -2 and then to Preschool . He likes to go to this school , he is very happy at this school . They have every day work time for about 2 - 3 hours and where you can notice in the class pin drop silence and children pick some work and learn it , do it and master it . In addition the school provides physical education , field trips Kids will learn disciple , focus in doing work ,orginised. We like this school :-))

Adequate Education

High Teacher turnover. 7 in a year. School was quick to label. Communication was inadequate despite many attempts to get feedback. Acceptable education. Would ask parents to look at other alternatives for their children's education.

Caring, well-trained, and superbly attentive staff

It never occurred to me to look on CitySearch for a review of the school my kids attend but when a friend doing their own research called my attention to the April 24 review posted by "abcrate," saying "isn't that where your kids go?" I just had to come and see for myself. I'm not certain that abcrate is referring to the same Windsong Montessori that my kids have gone to since before they were 2 and 4 years old. The staff is diverse, in terms of experience, ethnicity, age, and gender; that diversity is something I value and found absent in most of the schools we visited. Additionally the curriculum, year-round, is relevant, robust, and challenging. Again, all features that I value. To intimate that the school does not maintain a "feedback mechanism" is disingenuous at best and downright rude at worst. I have had direct experience with over a dozen classroom instructors and the certified teachers (at least one in each room, by my informal count) have ALWAYS been available for consultation, before and after school. I have my kids' teacher's cell phone number - - how many school teachers do you know who do that?! We get weekly progress reports, in writing, on each of our children, as well as at least 4 formal interactions each academic year (2 open house + 2 conferences). In all candor, Montessori isn't for everyone. Not for every kid and certainly not every parent. It takes a great deal of parental involvement to make it work. Parents have to become comfortable without the usual public school metrics, like grades and test scores. But that effort is rewarded every time I see my kids ask intelligent questions that I know good and well wouldn't be encouraged in a public school with 30+ kids in a classroom, lectured to by an overworked, underpaid, underappreciated public servant. Private school is a serious decision and a serious investment (of time and money) and Montessori requires a certain level of maturity, by both student and parent.

Excellent private montessori school!

I have had all three of my children in the Windsong Montessori School since starting there in preschool. My oldest child has just finished 6th grade at Windsong and is graduating to start at our local public middle school taking all advanced placement classes. My middle child has been in Windsong's elementary for a couple of years now and is doing very well, and doing especially well in math and reading. My youngest is just moving from Windsong's preschool to into its elementary program. She had already started reading in the preschool and is making good progress in all subjects. The teachers are well trained. All the staff is extremely dedicated, friendly, and caring. The school helps the children advance at each child?s own best pace and builds their social skills. All my children have loved their teachers. All of them have made good friends with some of the other children in their classes. The school offers regular gymnastics classes on-site with professional-grade gym equipment and trained gymnastic instructors. Windsong also has a full-size, bright-yellow school bus for safely transporting the kids on field trips. The school bus is amazing because it also offers built-in fold-down safety seats for all the younger children, it has a wheel-chair lift, and it has plenty of room for teachers staff and parents to ride along, too. My children also enjoy the after-school program and activities until I can pick them up at about 6:00 pm after I get off work. My kids are having such a good time, they don't want to leave! I truly think this school is one of the best schools you could find anywhere.
